The headquarters of the Control Board of the Denominación de Origen Rioja hosted the blind tasting conducted by a panel of wine experts. A large number of wine cellars from the appellation competed in the various categories. The wines selected within the different categories form part of the Selección Vinos D.O. Rioja 2015 and will be used by the Control Board in activities and promotional actions of the rioja appellation during the current year and up until May 2016.

The wine selected by the tasting panel as the official institutional wine of the D.O. Rioja in the “TINTOS RESERVA” category was Coto Imaz Reserva, a wine  from a vintage rated as excellent, which could become one of the classic Rioja vintages due to its high quality.

This recognition is, undoubtedly, the best proof of the excellent work the winery is doing for continuous improvement in quality.
