In 1970 the El Coto de Rioja winery harvested the first vintage in its history. In 1976 it would inaugurate its facilities in the town of Oyón (Álava). These six years were the precursors of the collection of companies and wineries which today bear the name Grupo Barón de Ley.

Since those times, both the Grupo Barón de Ley and El Coto de Rioja have enjoyed an amazing trajectory, built on highly successful, top quality wines like El Coto or Coto Imaz Reserva.
