It is one of the world's leading wine cellars thanks to its high output and sales of its crianza wines. it is located in the town of Oyón in the province of Álava, and the total surface area covers over 110,000 square metres.

The purchase by Bodegas Barón de Ley in 1976 gave rise to the creation of the Grupo Barón de Ley.
